2021年12月を目の前にして、埋蔵量が豊かな石油産出国が将来の原油価格下落の懸念から、採掘量を下方修正していることから原油の価格が上昇し、世界のマーケットでは右往左往しているが、それには各国の政治的思惑と国家的戦略が見え隠れしているのは、誰の目から見ても明らかだ。個人的に考えているのは、果たして原油採掘量の下方修正は産油国の思惑だけなのだろうかという点である。産油国から輸入している国の石油備蓄量を一部放出して価格の上昇を防ぐという一時しのぎ的な短絡思考では、かえって産油国の反発を招き、更なる石油価格の上昇に繋がるという当たり前の発想はないのだろうか？米国は秀でた石油の産出国だったが、もしかして輸出より輸入に依存しているのではないだろうかという疑念が先に立つ。バイデン大統領の石油備蓄放出案は、一部報道では支持率アップの為の戦略とも言われている。日本は石油備蓄の放出の余力はないはずだ。米国の傀儡的な国体なのだから仕方がないが。今現在私たちが暮らす地球は間氷期だという人もいる。正式には「完新世間氷期」と言い、今から12000年前、それまで250万年の間続いた更新世最後の氷期が終わると同時に始まった。氷河期と氷河期の間に囲まれた比較的気候が温暖の時期で、私たちはこの地球に棲まわされていたわけだ。人類史の有史の始まりと言えば中国4000年とかエジプト5000年とかが共有された知識だが、その有史とやらとの決別もそう遠くない未来に到来する日がくるかもしれない。今の世界の情勢を見ると、今世紀に入っても人類はとても進化しているとは思えない。映画の「2001年宇宙の旅」「スタートレック」の未来は20世紀の時代では全て可能だと思ってはいたが、そうは問屋が卸せないという状況になった。話は戻るが、原油の大元は何億年もまえからの生物の死骸が海底に堆積され、地中で化学反応を起こして出来たものなので、未来永劫無尽蔵に採掘出来るものではない。ピークオイルは石油が枯渇する時期を示すものだが、今世紀中には訪れるに違いない。化石燃料がCO2の原罪だという確証はない。ノーベル賞受賞者が論じてもそれが正しいという保証もないのだ。例えば人類が吐く息だってCO2で、ゲップやオナラだってCO2だ。100億人にせまる人類の排出するCO2だって馬鹿には出来ない。太陽の寿命もいつまでなのかも気になるし、一番懸念されるのは、人類の放漫と無節操な地球資源の食い潰しで、排出権ビジネスがそれに輪をかけて、混迷の地球温暖化を助長していくことだ。スウェーデンのグレタという少女が、環境問題に取り組んではいるけれども、反対運動やデモだけで解決するほど、人類は進化していないのが現状だ。
